Privacy Policy

Unless stated otherwise, personal information which you give us is used only for administering your relationship with R-cube Systems. It may be held by an organisation which supplies a computer service, but it is not passed to third parties for any other purpose.

All accesses to this web site are logged. The information stored in the logs includes the date and time, the address of the machine used to access our site, details of the page requested, the browser version you are using, and possibly the referring page. Other information sent by your browser may be logged, especially if an error occurs. When you send us a message using our contact form, some of the logged information is also contained in the email message which we receive.

Any information we hold may be released to competent authorities if we are legally compelled to do so, or to assist investigation of a suspected misuse of our site.

Cookies

We use cookies on this web site to maintain the appearance that your page accesses belong to a single session. This is required for security as well as helping to improve the presentation. One cookie, called "_SESSION", is always used, and by using this site you accept our use of this cookie. Another, called "_COOKIES", is optional and enables you to control the banner message about cookies.

The details of the way these cookies are used are as follows:

  • _SESSION contains short term information to link your page accesses together into a single session. This cookie has a short lifetime (currently two hours) but it is renewed every time you access a page on the site. The information contained in this cookie is meaningless except to our server, and the contents are never passed to any third party, unless for legal or investigative purposes as described above. For normal site visitors, it never contains personally identifying information, although it may contain enough information to identify the machine from which the site is being accessed.

  • _COOKIES is a long-term cookie which is set only if you click on the button to accept cookie use in the banner message about cookies. If you do this, and if your browser keeps cookies for a sufficiently long time, the cookie banner message will not appear again until this cookie expires (currently one year). This cookie contains nothing other than a word indicating your acceptance (currently just "ok").
